My Dear Baring,

When I last saw you in company with Mr Vizetelly you express'd a wish for some evidences as to the future prospects & hope of success of the North Fleet Company -

I have received the inclosed letters from Mr V. accompanied by the list of Directors "in esse ad  posse" & sundry letters from powerful particulars whose support we shall receive & who are only waiting for the appearance of the Compy to exhibit their good will in deeds.

We are most anxious to obtain from your firm any assistance you may feel inclined to and justified to afford us - and if you could, or rather would promise  us one or at most two substantial Directors in addition...
